Welcome to the class website for LING 405, Semantics and Pragmatics, with Prof. Joseph Pentangelo. This site hosts class readings, the syllabus, and other materials. In addition, assignments will be shared with you here.

This class is an introduction to linguistic meaning, exploring how sentences obtain their meanings from both structure and from context. Other topics addressed include lexical (word) meaning, discourse meaning, and intonational meaning.

Class meets on Wednesdays, 6:30–9:50pm in room 2N-003.
